“Shipping merchants organise the transport of all kinds of goods over sea. They work in liner shipping companies, tramp shipping companies and in brokerage companies. Shipping merchants stay in contact with customers from all over the world, suppliers, crew on board such as all people who provide services in the maritime and port industry. Shipping merchants control the execution of all tasks related to the equipment and the operation of the seagoing vessels.” (Source: IHK)
